Fransje is a Partner in Amsterdam. She joined McKinsey in 2007 in Amsterdam and has extensive experience in the power, oil & gas and mining sector working with both the private sector and government across Europe, Middle East and Africa
Fransje leads McKinsey’s global initiative on Resilience and Portfolio Enhancement, co-leads our European Power practice and the sustainability group in the Benelux
She serves on the advisory board of the Cambridge Centre of Risk Studies.

Selected McKinsey experience
- Developed the risk taxonomy, risk exposure mapping and quantification for a global energy business (across 10+ countries with on average >20 positions (long, short)) and set up the portfolio optimization capability (models, data) including the hiring and training of team
- Supported the energy transition strategy and green business building for an integrated O&G / Chemicals company including the diversification into renewables, hydrogen, sustainable air fuel. Set up the new business unit for Sustainable Air Fuels and the Hydrogen business incl. partnerships
- Led for a global Major their expansion into renewable power and energy transition. Focused on the most strategic issues including setting up their renewables business that currently includes > 10k FTE, supported various 100 mio+ M&A deals and 1 large 10+bn deal
- Supported an integrated energy company with their energy transition strategy, their performance turn around program and business carve out
Led the analytics transformation in trading for a European Utility
Led several digital transformations for industrial players; introducing agile working in a customer backed way while delivering bottom line impact.
- Developed retail strategy and implementation plan for PV and Battery for a global renewable player
- Set up the renewables business of an incumbent power company
Developed the 30GW and 60 mio connections Roadmap for Barack Obama’s Power Africa initiative
- Developed the entry strategy for a power player to the Chinese and Japanese gas markets
- Led a 10bn M&A in the power sector

Education / Prior experience
Fransje holds a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) and studied at Bocconi University School of Management (Italy) and Pompeu Fabra (Spain)
Prior to joining McKinsey, Fransje worked for at Power company in their Renewables and Trading department and for a Marketing company (VODW) in Sports marketing
